Iota Phi Foundation, an affiliate of the Iota Phi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, is operated by professional African-American men who volunteer to improve the quality of life of people in the greater Pittsburgh community. One of our mandated programs is to recognize individuals within the local community whose contributions have made a difference in the lives of others. Each year the foundation “presents” these honorees at a black tie optional event which includes a program and dinner.
Five people will be honored for their demonstrated superior leadership in the areas of Business, Medicine, Education, and Community Advocacy. We will also present a “Citizen of the Year” whose contributions to the region deserve particular note and an “Omega Men of the Year Award” to an undergraduate and graduate chapter fraternity brother who has most notably demonstrated the principles of…Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance and Uplift during the year.
We are proud to announce the following Exemplary Service Award Recipients:
Business- Jackie Dixon, Giant Eagle Director of Government Affairs
Medicine- Catherine N. Udekwu, MD Pediatrician
Education- Dr. Linda Lane, Superintendent of Pittsburgh Public Schools
Community Advocacy- Kim Clark, Judge Allegheny County
Citizen of the Year- Reverend Dr. William Curtis
Omega Man of the Year- Brother Rahmon Hart
Undergraduate Omega Man of the Year- Brother Markus Clennon
We will also present our Omega Psi Phi Scholarship winners that evening. The proceeds from the Awards dinner fund our Social Action and Scholarship Programs. We are asking for your support by attending this occasion and/or favorably consider placing an ad in the Program booklet.
